Gr4 Camp Blog Post

Two weeks ago we went to camp.

 We first went to the Giraffe House.
 We held snakes and frogs.After
 that we went around and looked at the animals then we sat down and had our snack. We left when we finished our snack and carried on driving.

 When we got there the camp leaders introduced them self's. We then went into our dorms and unpacked. Then the camp leaders played a game with us called S.T.O.P STOP.After that we started the real fun activities.At 6 o' clock we had dinner.

Then we went on the hike Liam.R Stayed in his dorm because his tummy was sore.On the hike we talked about constellations it was very nice to talk about that cause I love stars and space.

A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement

Hi my name is Lily. I live in a informal settlement called Du Noon. Life is very hard here.  I wish my family had indoor plumbing so then I don’t have to get up at four in the morning to go get water and stand in long lines. Then I have to come back wash up get dressed and get ready for school and that’s what is really hard. I wish my parents had a car so I don’t have to walk to school .The route is so long I sometimes struggle to remember it. The route is dangerous sometimes there is a river we need to cross or a unstable bridge. And when is rains you must pray the sun comes out later so you can get dry because there’s no heaters or fans at school so you might just stay wet the whole day until you get home. I wish I had proper food to eat so I can be healthy. If you get sick in our township you have to get up and three in the morning so you can get to the doctor early. Learn to code 1

  The app that I used is called Swift Playground. If you are gonna use Swift Playgrounds  for the first time you should use Learn to code 1. It teaches you the basics of Swift and how to use different functions and loops and more. I’ve enjoyed using Swift Playgrounds because I learnt a lot more about coding. It’s a very basic app you start off easy and each level gets more and more difficult.
